A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a homicide that occurred in mid-September in the Algonquin neighborhood, said Dwight Mitchell, spokesman for the Louisville Metro Police Department.
LMPD officers arrested 18-year-old William Irvin on a murder warrant after a foot chase in the 1400 block of Dixie Highway in the Park Hill neighborhood around 4:15 p.m., Mitchell said.
The arrest follows the death of 18-year-old Jerrick Young. Second Division officers responded to reports of a person shot in the 1600 block of Dixie Highway on September 13 around 2:39 p.m., LMPD spokesman John Bradley previously said.
When officers arrived, they found Young outside with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
