Massachusetts Task Force 1 conducts river surveys while continuing Helene’s assistance

The Massachusetts Task Force 1 conducted river surveys as they continued their rescue efforts and relief efforts to North Carolina.

The task force was deployed last week after Hurricane Helene tore through the South, causing hundreds of deaths and flooding and leaving thousands without power or homes.

The task force was deployed shortly after the hurricane and has been working with other state response and relief teams.

On Sunday, the task force continued their search efforts, with two of FEMA’s K9 Strike Teams and the Wake Forest Fire Swift Water team conducting boat and land searches in Madison County, NC, and in the river.

The task force and other relief teams are continuing their efforts to assist the areas devastated by the recent hurricanes.

This is a development story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
