Tom Brady has been on the minds of Las Vegas Raiders fans for over two decades, ever since the “Tuck Rule” game.

Now Brady is part owner of the team.

The long and arduous process of making Brady part of NFL ownership ended when his stake in the Raiders was officially approved by NFL owners at the league’s fall meetings. According to multiple reports, Brady was approved unanimously on Tuesday.

Brady’s group, which includes Knighthead Capital co-founder Tom Wagner, agreed to buy a roughly 10 percent stake in the Raiders in May 2023. This was initially held up because the NFL’s finance committee said Brady would sell his share at a price that was much lower than the franchise’s true valuation. The purchase price was adjusted in February, clearing the way for the sale to go ahead.

The sale still had to be approved by three-quarters of the NFL owners, which happened during the fall meetings.

The complication for Brady as an owner is his work at Fox as a broadcaster, which began this season. He is reportedly not allowed to attend production meetings or attend training sessions in preparation for his broadcasts.

Brady is one of the key figures in NFL history. He won a record seven Super Bowl rings with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers and set numerous records during his 23-year career. Now he is officially back in the league.
