Firefighters extinguished a fire early Monday morning in Winnetka after it set fire to three homes, one of which was under construction and now completely destroyed.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire was reported just after 1:30 a.m. at a home in the 7900 block of N. Laramie Avenue.
Crews arrived to find a home undergoing some type of construction and engulfed in flames. The fire had already spread to two nearby buildings, an LAFD statement said.
“Firefighters battled the blaze in all three buildings and achieved containment within 46 minutes with no injuries reported,” the statement said.
They say one of the buildings suffered fire damage in the attic, while another building on the second floor suffered some damage. It is unclear whether the damage caused by the flames was enough to displace the people living in the homes.
No injuries have been reported.
Arson investigators are trying to determine what caused the fire.
