15-year-old shot to death in Woodlawn Tuesday night

A teenager died Tuesday evening after being shot in the city’s Woodlawn neighborhood, according to police.

The 15-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen and left leg in an alley in the 6600 block of South Champlain Avenue about 8:25 p.m., authorities said.

He was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Chicago police said no one was in custody Tuesday evening and that detectives were investigating the shooting.
