Man shot in ankle by unknown suspect, Fort Worth police say

A man was shot in the ankle by an unknown suspect on Friday, October 25, Fort Worth police said.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the area of ​​Illinois Avenue and Bessie Street in south Fort Worth shortly before 1 p.m. The victim suffered two gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.

The suspect is still on the run, police said. Detectives from the Gun Violence Unit will investigate the shooting.
