NEW LENOX, Ill. (CBS) — Police in New Lenox said they caught the person who stole an 80-year-old man’s car in New Lenox and pushed him out as he drove away.

Surveillance video shows the carjacking, which happened at Silver Cross Hospital on Wednesday at 6:10 p.m. Andrew Horwath was helped into the front seat of his minivan when a man got into the driver’s side door and drove away with the minivan, New Lenox police said.

Horwath was sitting partially in the front passenger seat when the man drove away. The man pushed Horwah out of the minivan, which then hit him, police said.

Police immediately turned to social media and asked the public for help in their search for the suspect, who they identified as Kyle Sears, 35.
