Vice President Kamala Harris returns to NC with a campaign trip to Raleigh

Vice President Kamala Harris plans to return to North Carolina on Wednesday as part of her final push before Election Day, the Harris-Walz campaign told The News & Observer.

Harris will be in Raleigh, while her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, will be in Charlotte and Asheville the same day.

The campaign did not provide details on what Harris and Walz would do, or whether the public could attend their events.

This is the Democrat’s 20th visit (and Walz’s fourth) to the state this election cycle.

Harris last visited Greenville on Oct. 13, where many waited hours for her roughly 25-minute speech at Williams Arena at East Carolina University’s Minges Coliseum.

With less than eight days left to campaign, Harris and former President Donald Trump remain locked in a close race, according to CNN’s latest national poll.

Conducted by SSRS, 47% of likely voters would support Harris; and an equal 47% support Trump, the poll found.

North Carolina is one of the seven major battleground states. Early voting has already begun and runs through November 2. Election day is Tuesday, November 5.
