Reports: Jaguars WR Christian Kirk out for season with broken collarbone after loss to Packers

Christian Kirk’s season is over.

The Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver suffered a broken collarbone during their 30-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday afternoon, according to multiple reports. That will put him out of action for the rest of the season.

Kirk went down in the fourth quarter of their loss to the Packers at Everbank Stadium while trying to catch a deep pass from Trevor Lawrence in the middle of the field. Kirk narrowly missed the catch, landing directly on his left side as he hit the ground.

Kirk immediately grabbed his shoulder, which was clearly in a lot of pain, and the Jaguars quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game. He was also seen wearing a garland as he left the stadium.

Kirk had two catches for 59 yards leaving the game Sunday. He finishes the season with 379 yards and a touchdown on 27 catches.

Kirk is in his third season with the Jaguars this fall. The 27-year-old is in the third year of a four-year, $72 million contract with the team. He has also been the subject of trade rumors in recent weeks, but his injury will likely put an end to that before next month’s deadline.

Trevor Lawrence went 21 of 32 for 208 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in the loss to the Jaguars, dropping them to just 2-6 on the season. They tied the game just inside the two-minute warning after Lawrence also hit Evan Engram for a 14-yard score, but the Packers mounted a winning drive, capped by a 24-yard field goal by Brandon McManus.

The Jaguars will take on the Philadelphia Eagles next week in Pennsylvania.
