Hyatt announces rebranding and expansion in Mexico and Spain

Hyatt Hotels will rename Thompson Playa del Carmen Main House and Beach House in Playa del Carmen, Mexico to Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen.

The hotel will open later this year and will offer a modern lifestyle hotel experience.

It offers two different accommodation options: an adults-only option in the ‘Downtown House’ and family-friendly suites in the ‘Beach House’.

Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen will be the second Hyatt Centric hotel in Mexico, after Hyatt Centric Campestre León.

Located on Fifth Avenue, known as ‘La Quinta Avenida’, the hotel features 119 rooms and suites, including 92 in the Downtown House and 27 in the Beach House.

It features amenities such as floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in rain showers, outdoor balconies and plunge pools, as well as semi-outdoor event spaces designed by architectural firm Niz + Chauvet.

The Downtown House features a rooftop infinity pool, swim-up bar and luxurious cabanas, all set against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea.

The ‘Beach House’ offers an oceanfront pool and a restaurant that emphasizes local seafood and seasonal ingredients.

In addition to the rebrand in Mexico, Hyatt has announced the opening of AluaSoul Costa Adeje in Tenerife, Spain, expanding the brand’s presence in the Canary Islands.

The hotel is part of the Alua Hotels & Resorts brand within Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection portfolio and offers all-inclusive services with multiple entry options.

AluaSoul Costa Adeje features 226 rooms, most with private balconies or terraces, and upgraded accommodations through the My Favorite Club.

Guests at AluaSoul Costa Adeje can enjoy a variety of dining options, a poolside snack bar, two bars and an on-site spa.
