Election Day is here!
While the presidential race has received the most attention this election cycle, Rhode Islanders have some important decisions to make as they head to the polls. Voters will have their first chance to consider freshman Reps. Seth Magaziner and Gabe Amo. Will they return to Washington, DC, for their second term?
The race between incumbent Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse and Patricia Morgan has also heated up in recent weeks.
Although often overlooked, the five ballot questions could also play a key role in determining Rhode Island’s future.
-
Question 1: The constitutional convention
-
Question 2: Calls for a $160 million higher education bond
-
Question 3: What you need to know about the $120 million housing bond
-
Question 4: RI voters decide on $53 million green bonds for the environment
-
Question 5: This is what you need to know about the art association
What about the results?
Every race is different, so it’s impossible to know how long it will take to determine a winner until the polls close, but we should see the results shortly after the polls close at 8 p.m.
When do the polls open on Election Day in Rhode Island?
Polls are open from 7am to 8pm on Election Day in every city and town except New Shoreham, where polls are open from 9am to 8pm.
