The 2024 election is one for the books in Collier County.
Residents overwhelmingly supported the Republican ticket during the vote.
The turnout was high: 82.9% with 218,876 votes cast. But it was not a record turnout compared to four years ago.
According to the Supervisor of Elections Office, in the year before the 2020 presidential election, voter turnout in Collier was 90.4%.
In neighboring Lee County, turnout in this year’s general election was 81%.
