Levelland police are asking for public assistance with information about the man who was shot in October

Levelland Police are once again asking the public for help in solving a case where a man was found dead on the side of a road last month.

According to a statement from the City of Levelland, Gregorio Nathaniel Mendieta was found in the middle of the roadway in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 20, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Mendieta was found unconscious and face down in the middle of the 1700 block of Wilson Street with a single gunshot wound.

According to the city, investigators have not yet determined a motive for the shooting; However, preliminary information indicates that Mendieta was talking to an unknown person in a pickup truck.
