dLocal, Viva Aerobus partner to facilitate payments for travelers

Cross-border payment platform dLocal has entered into an alliance with Viva Aerobus, a Mexican ultra-low-cost airline.

This partnership aims to simplify local payment processing for travelers in Mexico, the US and Colombia.

The partnership comes at a time when the International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects passenger traffic in Latin America to grow by more than 5% per year over the next twenty years.

Francisco Melendez, head of payments and fraud prevention at Viva Aerobus, said: “By partnering with dLocal, we can simplify payments for our customers, allowing them to easily book flights with their preferred payment methods, wherever they are.

“This partnership not only improves the booking experience, but also positions us for future growth in emerging markets.”

Viva Aerobus will integrate dLocal’s payment solutions to improve booking conversion rates, giving customers the convenience of using their preferred payment methods.

This move is expected to simplify the booking experience and allow the airline to focus on its primary operations.

Additionally, the airline will gain valuable insights from transaction data and analytics to further refine its payment strategies during expansion.

DLocal Americas SVP head Justo Benetti said: “By enabling flexible, localized payment solutions, we are helping Viva Aerobus reach new markets and provide passengers with a smooth, secure booking process.

“At dLocal, we are becoming the payment partner of choice for airlines in emerging markets, a space that was very limited for years, with only a few players who understood the sector and how to serve them. We are happy to be at the forefront of innovation.”

dLocal’s offering includes card processing without the need for additional providers and advanced features such as installments, Smart Routing and Network Tokenization.

The ‘One dLocal’ concept, which includes a single direct API, platform and contract, enables international companies to handle payments and settlements worldwide.

Last month, dLocal partnered with USI Money to improve payment services in Asia and Africa.

“dLocal, Viva Aerobus partner to simplify payments for travelers” was originally created and published by Electronic Payments International, a brand owned by GlobalData.
