How a Lions Super Bowl win can turn a $100 bet into a $108,000 win for the local gambler

(CBS-DETROIT) — Bradley Lott correctly predicted the champions in three professional sports this past year. If he chooses a fourth correctly, he gets a big payout.

“What can I do if I add all four together and it ends up being $100 to win $108,000 and for me that was… okay, let’s see what happens,” Lott said.

Lott played offensive line at Brother Rice High School and at the University of Miami. He is currently studying law at Michigan State University, where he is also earning an MBA.

Put it all together and he seems to be very good at predicting the outcomes of professional sports.

“Also, I’ve picked the Super Bowl five out of six of the last six years. Every July I post a ticket. The only thing I missed was last year. The Chiefs had to go back-to-back. It’s It was a wild ride and I hope to keep doing it,” said Lott.

This four-way parlay was a wild ride to say the least, with Lott picking the Boston Celtics to win the NBA Championship. He then picked the Florida Panthers to win the Stanley Cup and the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the World Series.

Lot was aware. The final leg of this parlay involves choosing the NFL Super Bowl champion – and he chose the Detroit Lions.

Lott doesn’t make lucky guesses. He spends a lot of time researching data and researching matchup information, and his confidence in the Lions is at an all-time high.

“Confidence is incredibly high, but the reason I’m betting on this team is the foundation they’ve built,” Lott said.

“I think this city needs this and to see this hit, it will be great for me, but I’m more excited for the little kid who watched the Lions in 2008,” he added.

But if Lott hits the jackpot and the Lions win the Super Bowl, he does admit that $108,000 would help with student debt.

“And the purpose of this ticket: If this $108,000 comes in, I can pay off my student loans,” Lott said.

Lott says his goal after school is to work in the front office of a professional sports team.
