Goshen man seriously injured in crash

Nov. 14 – A Goshen man was hospitalized for life-threatening injuries after an early morning crash on U.S. 20.

According to Elkhart County deputies, Jackson Green, 19, of Goshen, was driving south on CR 21 near the US 20 intersection at 1:12 a.m. when his 2022 Chevrolet Malibu collided with a 2005 Peterbilt semi-trailer driven by Jason Hasch, 32, of Defiance. , Ohio, passing through the intersection.

Green was sent to South Bend Memorial Hospital for life-threatening internal injuries.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team was still investigating the crash as of 3:30 a.m.

ARRESTS

– A 30-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies at 12:24 a.m. Tuesday on a charge of operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic offender after he was stopped near US 33 and Shore Avenue in Elkhart.

– A 36-year-old man was arrested and jailed at 1:57 a.m. Wednesday by Elkhart County deputies on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated with priors after he was pulled over near Ind. 15 and CR 18 in Goshen.

– A 49-year-old man was arrested and jailed by Elkhart County deputies on Wednesday at 9:08 p.m. on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated following a single-vehicle crash with a utility pole on Old CR 17 south of C.R. 18 .

HIT-AND-RUN

Ryan Briskie, 25, of Middlebury, reported to Goshen police Wednesday at 5:33 p.m. that a crash at West Pike Street and North Second Street involved three vehicles, but the third vehicle left the scene without exchanging information.

SEXUAL CRIMES

– Goshen police were notified at 7:57 a.m. Wednesday of a possible child sex trafficking promotion. The incident remains under investigation.
