Renewed Israeli airstrikes on a Beirut suburb

Israel launched airstrikes on the Beirut suburb on Saturday, the latest bombardment on the area, a stronghold of the Lebanese, Iran-backed Hezbollah militia.

The attacks targeted Haret Hreik, part of the suburb known as Dahieh, and destroyed several buildings there, Lebanese state news agency NNA reported.

The attack followed an evacuation order from the Israeli army to residents there.

The Israeli military said it had carried out a series of attacks on Hezbollah infrastructure sites in the Dahieh area.

The NNA also reported clashes between Hezbollah fighters and Israeli forces after they attempted to enter the town of Dhayra, near the border area.

There was no immediate comment from the Israeli military.
