While the fair skies and dry weather will continue through Thursday, a wind advisory is in effect for parts of Los Angeles County until Tuesday afternoon.
Northerly winds of 15 to 20 mph are expected along the Malibu coast and the Pacific Palisades.
Similar conditions are expected in the San Fernando Valley and Santa Clarita Valley, including the cities of Castaic, Glendale, Sunland, Northridge, Universal City, Oat Mountain, Woodland Hills, Burbank, Chatsworth, Topanga, La Canada Flintridge, Valencia, Van Nuys, Santa Clarita and Newhall.
Winds of 20 to 30 mph and gusts up to 45 mph are forecast in the San Gabriel Mountains and the Highway 14 corridor. Gusty winds blow around unsecured objects and can blow down tree limbs and power lines, leading to potential disruptions.
There will be some warming in most areas over the three days. The weather will be cloudier, cooler and wetter starting Friday for the Central Coast and Friday evening for Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Clouds and the chance of rain will continue throughout the weekend. According to the National Weather Service, this new pattern will likely bring the first significant rainfall of the season to the area.
UPDATE: According to meteorologist Amber Lee of KCAL News, the wind advisory expired earlier than forecast Tuesday, before 7 a.m.
