A man died Monday after being struck by multiple cars while crossing Brandywine Highway in Binghamton.
Binghamton police said officers responded to a call involving an accident on Route 363 South at Frederick Street around 6:50 p.m.
Officers found a 39-year-old man on the roadway and he died at the scene. Police did not release the victim’s name Tuesday, pending notification of next of kin.

The man was heading west, police said, and tried to walk his bicycle across the highway against the green light for oncoming traffic.
He was then struck by a vehicle and knocked to the ground, causing other vehicles to hit him on the roadway.
Binghamton Police were assisted at the scene by the Broome County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction and the New York State Department of Transportation.
This is an ongoing investigation. The Binghamton Police Detective Bureau is asking anyone with information to contact the agency at 607-772-7080.
