This weekend feels like fall, with blustery conditions, a mix of sun and clouds, and highs in the low to mid 50s that feel like the 40s.
Monday will be a great travel day throughout the region, with sunshine and increasing cloud. It will also be the warmest of the next ten days, with highs around 60 degrees.
Tuesday storm #1 arrives. This is a weakened version of the Pacific Coast storm that brought flooding and 100 mph winds to the West Coast.
We only expect rain showers, especially in the morning with highs below a quarter of an inch. Expect wet roads during your trip and possible minor delays at the airport. The peak will be in the 1950s.
Cold air arrives after Tuesday’s storm and highs will drop into the upper 40s on Wednesday with partly to mostly cloudy skies.
Thanksgiving Thursday storm #2 arrives with steady rain and possible snow in the mountains. Highs will be in the mid-40s, so no snow is expected in Philadelphia. Roads will be wet and delays at the airport are possible. There may be snow and/or ice on mountain roads.
There will be persistent rain across the area on Friday with clouds and even colder air. Highs drop into the low 40s. Roads will be wet on any travel in the area.
Temperatures will remain in the low 40s and even upper 30s on Saturday and Sunday, with windy conditions and a mix of sun and clouds on both days. Wind chill temperatures will be in the twenties and thirties. Travel should be clear to everyone going home.
December and meteorological winter start next Sunday.
Storm #3 arrives on the Monday after Thanksgiving, December 2, the last of the busy holiday travel days.
The coldest air yet arrives that Monday with highs in the mid 30s and lows in the 20s. If this is the key, the current route will not cause a snow slide in the Poconos and Lehigh Valley.
It is far too early to determine whether snow or rain may fall in Philadelphia. This storm will continue for another ten days, so expect changes in track and timing. Needless to say, road and air travel may be affected, so stay aware of the storm if you are traveling that day.
