Banned horror movie that made viewers sick is now available to stream

Scarer 3one of the most controversial and talked-about horror films of the year, is now available on streaming, just months after it caused hysteria in cinemas.

The slasher film, which follows the exploits of the sinister Art the Clown, played by David Howard Thornton, was a huge success when it was released earlier this year, earning more than $87 million (£69 million) at the box office, against a modest budget of just $2 million (£1.5 million).

However, there was controversy surrounding its release, as its excessive bloodshed earned it a rare ban in France, while there were reports that the film caused some viewers to ‘vomit’ in the theatres.

Now the film is available on streaming, meaning those who weren’t brave enough to see it in theaters but are still curious about what the hype was about can now watch it at home.

The film can now be purchased or rented on various platforms including Amazon Prime, Apple TV and YouTube for £15.99. In the meantime, Bloody disgusting reports that a physical press release about the horror will be released on December 17.

The film debuted with an impressive Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 94 percent and even outperformed Joker 2 as it rocketed to the top of the US box office.

Director Damien Leone says the film’s success prompted a major studio to contact him with the intention of rebooting the franchise for a more mainstream audience, but on the condition that he tone down the violence.

Talk to Total filmhe said: “They wanted to reboot it for a wider audience. That wasn’t what I was interested in. They’d say, ‘It has to be R-rated, it can’t be as gory as you made it.’

The 42-year-old director added: “I knew they would never let me film the first ten minutes of what I wanted to do. [in Terrifier 3]. So I thought, ‘Let’s stay true to what this franchise is.’

The film’s success caused some controversy after people on social media claimed they fainted while watching the gory film.

Naturally, a group of people have been wary of these messages, with some suggesting that they were planted by the film’s producers in an attempt to make the film more successful.

Leone subsequently denied these reports, writing on X/Twitter: “To anyone who says there are reports of people fainting and vomiting during screenings of Scarer 2 is a marketing ploy, I swear on the success of the film that this is NOT the case. These reports are 100 percent legitimate.”
