Nov. 26—TURTLE RIVER — A 19-year-old man is dead and a woman injured after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning near Turtle River.
According to a statement from Beltrami County Sheriff Jason Riggs, the dispatch center received a report of the crash at the intersection of Bemidji Road Northeast and Island View Drive Northeast at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26.
Upon arrival, officers determined that two vehicles with one occupant were involved in a crash at the intersection, approximately 11 miles north of Bemidji.
An adult female was transported to Sanford Emergency Department in Bemidji. An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene and was extricated from his vehicle, the release said.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office. The female’s condition is unknown at this time. The names of those involved are being withheld pending family notification.
The Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Bemidji Ambulance Service, Bemidji Fire Department, North Country First Responders, Minnesota Department of Resources Conservation Officers and the Minnesota State Patrol.
