How much snow did Erie Pa get? Heavy storm covers the region

After a mild start to fall, Erie, Pennsylvania, experienced its first major snowstorm of the season over the holiday weekend, blanketing the region with significant snowfall.

On Black Friday, Erie International Airport recorded 22.6 inches of new snow, breaking the city’s previous single-day snowfall record of 21.8 inches set on December 26, 2017.

The National Weather Service has extended a snow warning for Erie County through Tuesday, Dec. 3, with another 16 inches of snow possible.

The heavy snow led to a local disaster emergency declaration by Erie County officials, a snow emergency in the city of Erie and travel restrictions on portions of Interstates 79, 90 and 86.
