MINNEAPOLIS — Legendary Australian rockers AC/DC are heading to Minnesota for the first time in almost a decade.
Now in their 51st year, the band will kick off the North American “POWER UP Tour 2025” on April 10, 2025 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Tickets go on sale on December 6 at 12 noon.
“Acca Dacca,” as they are affectionately known by fans, last visited the Twin Cities on Valentine’s Day 2016, when they rocked St. Paul’s Xcel Energy Center.
The band has endured hardships and tragedies since that visit, with lead singer Brian Johnson leaving the band shortly afterwards due to concerns about his hearing. More than a year after the Xcel, rhythm guitarist and co-founder Malcolm Young quit died from complications of dementia.
Johnson has since returned to the stage and will be joined in Minneapolis by the band’s only remaining original member: guitar god in schoolboy uniform Angus Young. His cousin, Stevie Young, will play rhythm guitar.
AC/DC’s most famous album, ’80s Back in Black, is one of the best-selling records of all time and was certified 27 times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America this summer. It was also their first album with Johnson after the death of singer Bon Scott earlier that year.
The band will visit a dozen other cities during the 2025 tour, including Vancouver, Las Vegas, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Nashville and Chicago.
