San Bernardino County Transportation Authority officials have announced an update to the nearly $23 million construction project near Interstate 215 and the campus of California State University, San Bernardino.
Construction on the I-215 University Parkway Interchange project began Nov. 25, including installation of concrete k-rails, construction signage, clearing and grubbing, and removal of existing concrete paving and curbs.
Beginning Monday, December 2 through the early morning of Saturday, December 7, crews will conduct temporary striping on the I-215 University on- and off-ramps each night from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
During this time, the southbound I-215 University Parkway on- and off-ramps will be closed. Diversion routes will be announced. There will also be intermittent lane closures on University Parkway between the on- and off-ramps.

The goal of the construction project is to reduce traffic congestion, reduce delays and improve highway access to I-215 at University Parkway near Cal State San Bernardino, school and transportation officials said.
The San Bernardino County Transportation Authority and the City of San Bernardino, in partnership with Caltrans District 8, are working together on the anticipated 12-month construction project, including the reconfiguration of the existing interchange.
Construction activities may also include paving work, traffic shifts, and overnight lane and ramp closures.
During construction, commuters everywhere along the corridor should use caution as workers and heavy equipment will be present, San Bernardino County Transportation Authority officials said.
The transport authority recommends allowing extra time to reach your destination as delays may occur.
Visit the project Google map for the most up-to-date planned closures and available detour routes.
