NC GOP moves closer to passing a bill that weakens the new governor

North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Senate voted Monday to override Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of a bill that would partially weaken Gov.-elect Josh Stein, the next attorney general in Jeff Jackson, and other Democrats who were also elected lieutenant governor and school director in November.
