A federal appeals court sided with the Justice Department on Friday, upholding a law that would ban TikTok in the US if the video-sharing app is not sold by January 19.
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit denied TikTok’s request to review the law.
TikTok and parent company ByteDance had filed a lawsuit in May to block the law, arguing that it suppresses speech by banning a platform used by more than half the U.S. population.
