Former Rep. Matt Gaetz, who was previously President-elect Donald Trump’s first choice for attorney general leave out his namewill have his own show on the far-right, pro-Trump One America News Network, Gaetz’s wife, Ginger Gaetz, and the network’s website confirmed Tuesday morning.

Gaetz’s next steps were unclear after he resigned from Congress, but then withdrew of consideration to become the next U.S. Attorney General, versus the publication of a report from the House Ethics Committee about allegations of past misconduct. CNN first reported that Gaetz would have his own show on OANN.

Gaetz’s wife said in a social media post that the show, called The Matt Gaetz Show, will launch in January.

OANN has a reputation for being friendly to Trump and settled a defamation lawsuit with voting machine company Smartmatic over the network’s 2020 election coverage. In the aftermath of the 2020 election, Trump repeated baseless claims of voter fraud pushed by the network , and OANN personality Chanel Rion strengthened unsubstantiated voter claims in the 2020 presidential election.

The network was discontinued by DirecTV in 2022, although it continues to be carried by Verzion FIOS and other distributors, and in 2020 by YouTube. suspended OANN’s account for violating the COVID-19 misinformation policy.

The new show comes just weeks later Gaetz resigned from Congress immediately after Trump announced his intention to appoint him as attorney general, question the release of a report stemming from a yearlong House Ethics Committee investigation into whether he engaged in sexual misconduct. House Republicans ultimately voted to block the publication of the report because Gaetz was no longer a member of Congress.
