BOSTON – An “odd couple” at one League for Animal Rescue shelter in Boston together look for a new home where they can continue their unlikely friendship.
Karma is a 5-year-old female American bulldog and Gigi is a 1-year-old female Chihuahua. They were turned over to the South End Animal Shelter last month “due to a housing situation,” the organization said.
The League for Animal Rescue said the original plan was not to have them adopted together, but “the two quickly forged a powerful bond while at the shelter and are now inseparable.”
“Comic” format contrast
Although the contrast in size “may be comical to some,” the ARL says, the two dogs have complementary personalities. They are often found curled up together during nap time.
“Karma is more introverted, while Gigi is a social butterfly, and together they quickly open up to new experiences, people and other dogs,” says the ARL.
Dogs for Adoption near Boston
A foster parent of Gigi and Karma told the ARL, “They play so well together that they don’t even seem to notice the size difference.”
Both get along dogs and even cats.
“Although they do have a playful side, the girls are also content to have a cuddle party and Gigi even falls asleep on your chest!” the ARL said.
Anyone interested in meeting the pair of dogs can visit the ARL’s Boston Animal Care and Adoption Center on Chandler Street or click here for more information.
“The pair will make a wonderful addition to any family and to anyone who has room in their heart for not one, but two amazing pups,” the ARL said.
