More than a thousand boxes of Connie’s Thin Crust Cheese Frozen Pizzas have been recalled due to possible plastic pollution.
Palermo Villa issued a recall Dec. 13 “out of an abundance of caution” for frozen pizzas sold in grocery stores in Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin, according to a news release from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
According to the release, Connie’s Thin Crust Cheese Frozen Pizzas expired on November 27 and are no longer sold in stores.
Palermo Villa advised customers who purchased the pizzas not to consume the product and to throw away the food. The frozen pizzas can also be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
At this time, the FDA has not reported any illnesses associated with the product.

The frozen pizza recall comes days after MadeGood recalled some batches of granola bars due to possible metal contamination.
The company also reported no injuries, adding that the recall was made “out of an abundance of caution and commitment” to its customers.
Earlier this month, SunFed Produce recalled cucumbers sold at national retailers such as Costco and Walmart due to a possible link to a salmonella outbreak.
The cucumbers were sold in 26 states and five Canadian provinces. The outbreak has sickened at least 68 people and hospitalized at least 18.
