Dec. 16—AUSTIN — The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has awarded nearly $13 million in grants to Texas higher education institutions through the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education (TRUE) Grant Program.
The TRUE Grant program supports the goals of the state’s higher education strategic plan, Building a Talent Strong Texas, by creating, expanding or redesigning education and training programs for workers in high-demand occupations.
“In Texas’ fast-growing, innovative economy, it is critical that workforce education and training keep pace to continue that success,” Sarah Keyton, interim commissioner of higher education, said in a news release. “These grants will support Texas higher education institutions as they develop programs to prepare our workforce for the future and keep our state ahead in a demanding, ever-changing economy.”
