A spokesperson for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, whose office filed the charges, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Trump lost a separate bid to dismiss the case on Monday. The Republican businessman-turned-politician, who is preparing to begin his second term in the White House on Jan. 20, had argued that the Supreme Court’s ruling in July that recognized immunity from prosecution for a president’s official actions , meant that the verdict could not be upheld.
