A Norwich man has been charged in connection with a shooting in Vernon in October.
Samuel Rivera, 32, is charged with criminal possession of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm, illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment in the first degree, obstructing an officer and tampering with evidence, according to Lt. Robert . Marra of the Vernon Police Department.
Marra said Rivera was taken into custody on Dec. 3 by Vernon detectives and members of the Norwich Violent Crimes Task Force. The charges he faces stem from an early morning shooting on Union Street on October 5.
Rivera was held in lieu of $650,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in court on December 5.
Marra said police are still investigating the shooting.
