Cash App founder Bob Lee’s family speaks out against Nima Momeni’s “immediate circle” after verdict

Members of Cash App founder Bob Lee’s family received sharp criticism for their loved ones on Tuesday Nima Momeni, who was convicted of second-degree murder in Lee’s 2023 stabbing death in San Francisco.

Lee’s family and ex-wife Krista Lee spoke to reporters outside the courtroom after the verdict was read in San Francisco Superior Court, sharply rebuking those close to Momeni and making accusations about their involvement.

Lee’s brother, Timothy Oliver Lee, denounced those in Momeni’s “immediate circle.”

“We believe that they should all feel as guilty as Nima,” he said.

Krista Lee, who was outspoken about the case during the trial, joined Lee’s brother in condemning those around Momeni.

“The blood is on their hands,” she said.

Prosecutors said Momeni stabbed Lee in the early morning hours of April 4, 2023in the city’s East Cut/Rincon neighborhood, in a fit of anger over Lee’s relationship with Momeni’s sister and their drug use. Defense attorneys claimed Momeni stabbed Lee in self-defense.

Reacting to the verdict, Krista Lee argued on Tuesday that Momeni’s family members should also be held responsible for Momeni’s actions.

“Our fight is not over,” she said.

Evidence at the trial showed that a few days after the stabbing, Momeni had given his sister and mother power of attorney to sell his BMW, the same car in which he allegedly fled. Momeni also stored the car at his mother’s house in a carport immediately after Lee’s death, according to Assistant District Attorney Omid Talai.

“We are happy that Nima Momeni will no longer be on the streets and no longer have the opportunity to harm anyone else in this world,” said Timothy Oliver Lee. “The verdict of murder two will lock him up for a long time.”
