Damian Lillard reportedly signs a lifetime contract extension with Adidas

Damian Lillard just won the NBA Cup and joins an exclusive club. The Milwaukee Bucks point guard has agreed to a lifetime contract extension with Adidas, according to Shams Charania of ESPN.

The deal makes Lillard the fourth active NBA player with a lifetime shoe sponsorship, joining LeBron James and Kevin Durant, who have lifetime deals with Nike, and Stephen Curry, whose lifetime deal with Under Armor includes his own Curry brand.

Lillard has been with Adidas since he first joined the league in 2012. In 2014, he signed a ten-year contract reportedly worth up to $100 million. That deal expired this season, Charania said.

The eight-time All-Star has a signature shoe with Adidas, the ‘Adidas Dame’.

The veteran guard helped lead the Bucks to the NBA Cup in the event’s second year, beating the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday. It was a much-needed win for a Milwaukee team still figuring out how Lillard, Giannis Antetokounmpo and head coach Doc Rivers could fit together as a championship team.
