University of Michigan issues an emergency warning, urging people to avoid the area

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (CBS DETROIT) – The University of Michigan issued an emergency warning Wednesday evening, urging people to avoid the area.

The alerts, first sent around 9:24 p.m., say officers responded to a parking lot between the North Campus Research Complex and the U of M Transportation Research Institute.

U of M campus police sources say a man is in distress and police have negotiated with him.
