The Atlantic City Airshow, an event that usually draws large crowds here, will not take place this summer, organizers said.
The show “will take a strategic hiatus before 2025,” according to the Greater Atlantic City Chamber.
The two-day event was also abruptly canceled in 2024, with organizers blaming the withdrawal on an unspecified “major act.”
“We will use this time to re-evaluate the overall operation of the show,” the organization said in a statement on Friday.
“It is our sincere hope that we can hold another Airshow in 2026.”
The review will take into account costs, logistics and community involvement. Organizers will also “think creatively about what future Atlantic City Airshows could look like,” the statement said.
The statement described the show, which has a 20-year history in Atlantic City, as “New Jersey’s largest free event” and the “world’s first beachside air show.”
“Our goal is to ensure the long-term viability of the Airshow,” the company said.
“We recognize the important role of the Airshow in our community and to the tourism economy, and we are steadfast in our commitment to preserving its legacy while adapting to current economic realities,” it added.
