The Mega Millions winning numbers have been announced for Friday, December 20, a drawing in which the jackpot reached $862 million.
Check your tickets to see if they match the winning numbers: 51, 2, 67, 56, 20 and the Mega Ball 19.
If Friday’s draw didn’t produce a jackpot winner, there’s still time to become a mega-millionaire this Christmas, but luck will have to be on your side.
The jackpot has been rolling since it was last claimed on September 10 at $810 million in Texas.
If someone wins the jackpot in Friday’s drawing, he or she will have the choice of an annuity with 29 annual payments or a lump sum cash payout of about $392.1 million before taxes.
Winning at this level would make it the largest prize ever awarded in December and the seventh largest in Mega Millions history.
Historically, 13 Mega Millions jackpots have been won in December since the game began in 2002, three of which were claimed after Christmas. However, no jackpot has ever been won on Christmas Day, despite six draws being held on the holiday over the years.
Mega Millions tickets cost $2 each, and the odds of winning the jackpot are about 1 in 303 million.
The next draw is scheduled for Tuesday evening.
