Third suspect in 2020 Snapchat heist pleads guilty

GOSHEN – A third suspect in a 2020 robbery scheme has pleaded guilty.

Delaney Davis, 21, entered a plea of ​​guilty to armed robbery as a Level 3 felony in Elkhart County Circuit Court on Thursday. He admitted that he and two other people took cash from the victim at gunpoint during the 6 incident October 2020 outside the Ashton Pines apartment complex.

The victim told Goshen police he met a woman on SnapChat and arranged to meet her for dinner. He met her in the parking lot, where she claimed to have car trouble and asked for help.

The victim said two men approached him while he was looking at the car, armed with a BB gun that looked like a real gun. He said they ripped his shirt and took a stainless steel chain, his wallet and his phone.

The woman who met the man was identified as Morgan Carlson. She pleaded guilty to armed robbery and was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The other man was identified as Adonis Blake, who was arrested in April 2022. Blake was given a 14-year prison sentence after also pleading guilty.

Davis was arrested in May on a warrant. He pleaded guilty ahead of a Jan. 6 jury trial.

His plea deal calls for a sentence of 12 years in prison, with six years of probation.

Judge Michael Christofeno accepted the plea and set sentencing for January 16.
