Bergen Community College professor Zameer Baksh has been suspended and faces criminal charges over allegations that he sexually assaulted a student, authorities said in a statement Saturday.
Baksh, who worked at the university for the past six years, allegedly kissed the unnamed female student on the cheek and made “inappropriate comments” to her on Dec. 11, according to the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.
He then “continued his attack by forcefully grabbing and touching her genitals,” authorities said.
Baksh was not booked into the county jail over the incident, authorities said, but he is charged with “criminal sexual contact” and “intimidation-offensive touching.”
Information about the attorney was not available Saturday evening. Baksh could not be reached via his LinkedIn profile and County College did not return a call seeking comment for this story on Saturday evening.
