Mostly sunny and seasonal weather in Philadelphia, another arctic blast. Here’s the prediction.

The light snow that fell across the area Friday evening through Saturday morning had a hard time sticking around after temperatures warmed into the 30s this afternoon.

Even though the wind made it feel a lot colder, the above-freezing temperatures caused quite a bit of meltwater, which will now refreeze until early Sunday morning when temperatures drop into the mid-20s.

The renewed freeze will be relatively short-lived as temperatures rise back above freezing around noon and peak around 40 degrees under mostly sunny skies on Sunday afternoon. Temperatures will cool to the upper 30s by the time the Eagles kick off against the Green Bay Packers at 4:30 p.m. As the sun sets at 4:58 p.m., temperatures will continue to cool and are likely to be around freezing by then and the game is over.

Temperatures will continue to drop into the mid-20s early Monday morning, but another relatively mild day is in store for Monday afternoon as temperatures return to the low-mid 40s.

However, the near-normal temperatures will be short-lived as another dry Arctic cold front sweeps through the area Monday night. Temperatures on Tuesday will then only be able to rise to almost 30 degrees all day, before dropping to almost 20 degrees on Tuesday night.

The winds will only add to the arctic blast as winds gusting around 50 mph maintain wind chill temperatures in the teens on Tuesday afternoon, then plunge into the single digits Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

The bitter cold will continue for most of the week, with high temperatures not rising back into the 40s until Friday. Another system appears to be approaching the region on Saturday, increasing the chance of rain on Saturday afternoon and Saturday night.

Here’s your seven-day forecast:
