A 2-year-old girl shot in Durham dies from her injuries

A 2-year-old girl who was shot in a single incident involving three people in Durham last week has died from her injuries.

An adult male, an adult female and the two-year-old girl were shot on East Cornwallis Road at 8:14 p.m. on June 20.

The woman is the girl’s 19-year-old mother and the couple were visiting the teen’s friend at Campus Crossings at Durham Apartments when shots were fired at their car, according to ABC11, The News & Observer’s news gathering partner.

The case remains active and no other information has been released, according to a press release from the Durham Police Department.
