A cool start, sunny and mild Philadelphia weather this Sunday ahead of Game 2 of NLDS

Saturday was clear and sunny, with temperatures in the 60s and 70s.

A clear and cool night with lows in the 40s and 50s will lead to another great Sunday, with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 70s for much of the Delaware Valley.

A fast-moving cold front will move through the region Sunday evening and may produce a few showers or thunderstorms as it moves. The chance of rain will be greatest on Sunday night between 11pm and 3am on Monday morning, with clearing skies for most of the morning rush hour. While a few rumbles are possible, severe weather is unlikely.

Then we welcome a brisk and cool pattern next week with only highs in the 60s and morning lows in the 40s.

Nighttime lows – even in the city – will be the coolest we’ve seen so far this season.

We have that now in the tropics Tropical Storm Miltonwhich will continue to develop and strengthen over the very warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico. With its NE track, Florida’s west coast should brace for what could be a major hurricane by the middle of next week. Winds can reach more than 190 km/h, with storm surges of up to 3 meters. Areas from the Panhandle to Tampa and even the Keys need to be on high alert as we monitor this serious threat.
