MINNEAPOLIS — A cold Friday morning turns into a sunny and pleasant fall day in the Twin Cities.
Freeze advisories are in effect until 9 a.m. in St. Cloud, Brainerd and Wilmar, while freeze warnings are in effect in Hinckley, Hayward and Duluth until 9 a.m.
Friday’s high temperature in the metro will be 69 degrees. The sun is building quickly and the wind is turning south to warm us. It is ideal for bonfires and outdoor activities.
Saturday will be warm and windy, with highs around 80 degrees. The fire risk will increase again. A cold front will move in late and this could bring a few isolated showers to eastern Minnesota and certainly Wisconsin.
Saturday will be cooler and less windy.
Twin Cities Marathon runners will have a dry and sunny start on Sunday. It will be cool with morning lows in the low 50s and afternoon temperatures in the mid 60s.
The extended forecast has us warming up again by mid-week, with a possible return to the 80s.
