Firefighters rushed to save a church in Chesterfield Square after the parish was engulfed in flames.
According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the fire started in the 2100 block of W. Slauson Avenue around 10:30 p.m. Crews said heavy fire was coming from the one-story church and a nearby commercial building.
