Poudre Fire Authority crews are responding to a wildfire near the mouth of Poudre Canyon Tuesday afternoon, according to emergency radio traffic and the agency’s social media account on X.
The fire was estimated at five hectares in size and there were threatening structures in the area, according to the post on X.
“Firefighters are working to suppress the fire and protect structures in the area,” PFA said in the post at 1:49 p.m. The fire was first reported at 1:08 p.m., according to the PulsePoint app.
The fire was burning in an area just north and east of McMurray Ranch Road (Larimer County Road 29C), just north of Colorado Highway 14, between Ted’s Place and the mouth of Poudre Canyon.
