There are hundreds of vacation rentals along the Grand Strand for those who want to spend time in the Myrtle Beach area. But some stand out a little more than others.
We’ve found some of the more unique rental properties in the Myrtle Beach area. There’s everything from a Barbie-themed house to a salon and the ‘Love Shack’.
Think pink
Cristy Weber wanted to design a house with the color pink for a few years.
She finally got her chance last year when she, along with Collins Weber, opened the Inn in the Pink in North Myrtle Beach. The fact that the house was purchased a month before the opening of the film ‘Barbie’ in 2023 was a plus.
Weber said the home is primarily aimed at women, with pink colors throughout the home, including the exterior of the home, kitchen appliances, the walls and even floor inlays in the kitchen floor. Fun and funky wallpaper is placed in several rooms, such as the flamingo room where even the lamp on the bedside table is covered in pink feathers.
The plan was to use the house for a girls’ trip or bachelorette party. “North Myrtle Beach/Myrtle Beach needed something like this,” Weber said.
She has also discovered that a number of families and children enjoy staying at the house. But really, the house is for all ages, Weber said.
The house has a games room, a karaoke machine and a swimming pool.
The four-bedroom, three-bathroom home sleeps 22 people, Collins Weber said. In addition to the main house, there is also a smaller house at the back that is just as pink and vibrantly decorated.
Barbie’s dream house
Speaking of Barbie, you can stay in her dream home, or at least a replica of it, in a house at the Ocean Lakes Family Campground in the Myrtle Beach area.
Everything is pink in the two-bedroom, two-bath home, including appliances, kitchenware, furniture, and the complimentary pink golf cart that is part of the rental price. There are also Barbie items throughout the house.
The house has a Barbie photo box that is perfect for vacation photos. You can even pretend to be Malibu Barbie and swim in the ocean accessible at the campsite.

This rustic Aynor home certainly gives off an Old West vibe with wood everywhere, including the ceiling, cowboy decor, and stuffed deer on the walls.
Called ‘The Saloon’ it is described as a cabin in a quiet country setting, but only 30 minutes from Myrtle Beach.
The house sleeps four guests with one bedroom and one bathroom, but there is an outdoor shower if you want to rough it up. In addition, it has outdoor swings around a fire pit that make for a beautiful summer evening.
The camper’s withdrawal
This tiny house cabin is located next to a pond in Conway. The one-bedroom, one-bathroom house is perfect for those who enjoy camping or ‘glamping’ as it features a TV and WiFi.
The home also has an outdoor living area with a back porch leading to a sitting area and fire pit. The house invites its guests to settle in with a sign at the main entrance that reads ‘Inhale’ and a sign at the back that reads ‘Exhale’.
A private resort
Ready to kick your vacation into high gear? Just steps from the beach, this Myrtle Beach townhouse has many of the amenities of a resort, but with the privacy. While the indoor space is great, it’s the outdoor space that has the ‘wow’ factor.
Guests can enjoy a custom outdoor bar and kitchen with TV, foosball table, two fire pits, lounge chairs on the patio, a projector for movie nights and a hot tub that sits in front of a theater screen.
But the fun doesn’t stop there. There are also old style arcade games inside. And the third bedroom has a jacuzzi.
Not just for horses
A horse trailer in Conway may be small with one bedroom and one bathroom, but what it lacks in size on the inside it makes up for on the outside.
The area offers a fire pit, horseshoes, shower room, gas grill and two hammocks. Renters can also walk along the trails leading to the National Wildlife Refuge or fish in the two ponds on the property.
The bar in the trailer has two windows that overlook the hay field and provide a beautiful view as the sun sets.
The Love Cabin
It may not be the one mentioned in the famous B-52s song, but this Love Shack is a studio bungalow in North Myrtle Beach, four blocks from the beach.
It’s also just a few minutes to tourist attractions like Barefoot Landing, Tanger Outlets and Alabama Theater.
The house is located in the backyard of another house, but has its own gazebo in the garden.
The owners also offer a ‘Sweetheart Package’ for an additional charge, including a bottle of champagne or wine and chocolate.
