A magnitude 3.5 earthquake has struck the San Gabriel Valley, the US Geological Survey reported.

The USGS says the earthquake occurred Sunday morning in the epicenter of Pasadena. It was felt about 2.3 miles northeast of South Pasadena and 2.4 miles east-northeast of Alhambra.

The earthquake was felt in Los Feliz, Long Beach, Anaheim, San Bernardino and even as far away as San Diego.

“It was a strong jolt that was felt in Pasadena,” said Lisa Derderian with the city of Pasadena. “Many people report it via Neighborhood Apps. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries or damage.”

Derderian advised the public to be prepared for possible aftershocks.

“Mother Nature reminds us that we must be prepared. We cannot be complacent. Children are home from school. Today is Sunday, a good day to make sure your disaster kits are up to date, food for the family and your pets, ways to charge your electronic devices other than plugging them in for electricity, but this could be the harbinger, otherwise we need to be prepared for aftershocks in the coming days,” she said.
