Dec. 3 – A Manchester man has been charged in connection with a domestic incident in which he stabbed his brother, shot himself in the stomach and stabbed a dog in August.
Alex Rebelo, 25, of 12 Country Club Drive, has been indicted on charges of first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless conduct with a deadly weapon and cruelty to animals.
Rebelo is accused of stabbing his brother in the arm with a knife (first-degree assault) and strangling an intimate partner (second-degree assault). The indictment also alleges that Rebelo stabbed and “discharged a firearm” from his dog, an animal as defined in RSA 644:8, torturing and mutilating the animal.
He was charged with reckless conduct by firing a gun in the home and “endangering himself and/or others with serious bodily harm.” He also faced a second charge of reckless endangerment after discharging the firearm into his abdomen.
Manchester officers responded to the scene around 8:30 PM on August 29, where both men were taken to local hospitals.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court in Manchester on December 20.
