State soldier accused of sexual misconduct
The sexual misconduct allegedly occurred during a traffic stop. It is unclear who came forward with the allegations. Kent was suspended without pay on Thursday, I-Team sources said.
He was previously suspended for eight days in 2023 following an internal affairs investigation that saw him leave an assigned post.
“The Massachusetts State Police has no tolerance for sexual misconduct of any kind, and we hold our members accountable to the highest professional standards,” a state police spokesperson said in a statement.
“When these serious allegations came to our attention, the department immediately removed the accused soldier from duty, initiated an internal affairs investigation and suspended him without pay following the hearing on his duty status,” a state police spokesman said in a statement.
Kent graduated from the State Police Academy in 2017.
Lexington police and the Middlesex district attorney are investigating.
